Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering for or using the LabourBase AI platform ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform. These Terms apply to all users including labourers, subcontractors, contractors, and administrators.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom to register as a labourer or subcontractor. Contractors must be a registered business or sole trader operating in the UK. By registering, you confirm you meet these requirements.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@labourbase.ai if you suspect unauthorised access. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
For your security, changing your password immediately invalidates all existing sessions. You will need to log in again on all devices.
4. Platform Services
LabourBase provides a marketplace that connects contractors with labourers and subcontractors. We use AI to parse job descriptions, score worker profiles, and rank candidates. We are a technology intermediary only, we are not an employment agency, and we do not employ, engage, or place workers. Any contract of employment or engagement is solely between the contractor and the worker.
5. Accurate Information & Identity Verification
You must ensure that all information you provide on the Platform is accurate, complete, and up to date. Uploading false compliance documents, misrepresenting qualifications, or impersonating another person are grounds for immediate account termination and may result in legal action.
Identity verification: When you upload a work video, our AI compares your appearance in the video to your profile photo. If the AI detects a mismatch (a different person in the video than in your profile photo), your video will be flagged for review. Repeatedly uploading videos that do not match your profile photo may result in account suspension.
You must not upload videos that are not your own work, including content downloaded from YouTube, social media, or any other source. All video content must be original footage of your own work.
6. Subscriptions and Payments
Certain features require a paid subscription or credit purchase. Subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. Credits are non-refundable once consumed. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your billing page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. All prices include VAT where applicable.
7. AI Scores & Feedback
AI-generated scores are derived from video content you voluntarily upload and are intended as a guide for contractors. Scores do not guarantee employment, reflect character, or constitute a professional assessment. LabourBase makes no warranty as to the accuracy of AI scores and accepts no liability for decisions made based on them.
Post-hire feedback: After hiring a worker, contractors may submit skill ratings across work quality, safety, technique, and communication, and confirm whether the worker's performance matched their video. This feedback is visible to the worker and may influence future AI scoring as our models improve. Feedback must be factual and performance-based, abusive, discriminatory, or retaliatory feedback will be removed and may result in account action.
8. Video Content & Compression
Videos you upload are automatically compressed to 720p quality to optimise storage and streaming performance. The original file is replaced with the compressed version after processing. By uploading a video, you acknowledge and accept this compression.
You retain ownership of all video content you upload. You grant LabourBase a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, process, compress, analyse (including AI scoring and identity verification), and display your videos for the purpose of providing and improving the Platform.
9. Profile Photo Privacy
Labourers can choose whether their profile photo is publicly visible to other users via a privacy toggle in their profile settings. Regardless of this setting, your profile photo will still be used server-side for AI identity verification when you upload work videos. Setting your photo to private means it will not appear in browse results or on your public profile, but it remains stored securely for verification purposes.
10. Prohibited Conduct
You must not:
• Use the Platform to harass, threaten, or discriminate against any person • Attempt to circumvent our fee or billing system by taking relationships off-platform to avoid credits • Upload unlawful, defamatory, or fraudulent content • Upload videos that are not your own original work footage • Use someone else's profile photo or impersonate another person • Submit false, retaliatory, or discriminatory feedback about a worker • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract training data from the Platform • Use the Platform for any purpose other than its intended construction labour marketplace function
11. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform, including the LabourBase brand, logo, AI systems, AI models, scoring algorithms, and software, is owned by LabourBase AI Ltd or its licensors. You retain ownership of content you upload (such as videos, photos, and documents) but grant LabourBase a non-exclusive licence to store, display, compress, analyse, and process it for the purpose of providing and improving the Platform, including training proprietary AI models using anonymised and aggregated data.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LabourBase shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the Platform, including loss of earnings, loss of contracts, or loss of data. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the subscription fees you have paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.
LabourBase is not liable for the accuracy of AI identity verification results, AI skill scores, or post-hire feedback submitted by other users.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for breach of these Terms, non-payment, identity verification fraud, or if we reasonably believe your use of the Platform causes harm. You may close your account at any time from your settings page. On termination, your right to access the Platform ceases immediately and your personal data will be deleted within 30 days (except where legal retention obligations apply).
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes at least 14 days in advance via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
16. Contact
For questions about these Terms, contact us at legal@labourbase.ai or write to LabourBase AI Ltd, Legal Department, England & Wales.
